Our Kiwanis club has a partnership with The Picnic Project at First United Methodist Church of Sanford. The Picnic Project provides hot meals and food to those that are food insecure in Seminole County. Our Club has cooked a meal for 200+ people at the Picnic Project and we often help serve food on Sundays. Though the hot meals were on hold during the Covid-19 pandemic, we helped to pack and distribute bags of food to the community.

Samuel Beauchamp “Jim” Crowe American Citizenship Essay Contest
Every Spring, we award $1000 to the winner of our Samuel Beauchamp “Jim” Crowe American Citizenship Essay Contest. Any graduating senior in Seminole County is eligible to apply. This contest is a lasting tribute to Jim and his concern and love for our community and country. Congratulations to MacKenzie Whitely, our 2020 Essay Contest Winner and graduate of Winter Springs High School! She will continue her studies at Florida State University in the Fall.

Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentorships and provide college scholarships for the Key Club students. We launched and mentor the first STEM-based Key Club to support the development and implementation of technology and science-based solutions as service projects. Projects include vaccine monitoring systems and tracking and training tools for the American Red Cross. We are currently sponsoring the following Kiwanis Key clubs:
